  • Lactic acid is perfect for those who suffer with dry skin who desire a more profound exfoliation than what traditional cleansers and scrubs offer.

Our lactic formula contains medical grade lactic acid. Lactic acid works at the base of the stratum corneum (the top layer of your skin) and dissolves the ‘glue’ that holds dead skin cells together. This increases cell turnover and the skin becomes smoother and more even in skin tone and texture.

Our formula also stimulates your skin to produce more collagen which is the main structural protein of the skin which keeps it elastic and line free; when this starts to disintegrate, skin begins to sag and wrinkle. Replacing the collagen your skin loses with age can help diminish crow’s feet around the eyes along with frown lines and vertical lines around the lips.

FAQS

  • Lactic acid can help with several skincare concerns, some of which are (but not limited to):

Exfoliation: It effectively removes dead skin cells from the surface of the skin, revealing a new layer of healthy skin underneath.

Hydration: As a humectant, it attracts moisture to the skin and increases hydration, which helps to plump up the skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines.

Brightening: It can help to even out the skin tone and reduce the appearance of dark spots and hyperpigmentation.

Anti-aging: It stimulates collagen synthesis, which helps to maintain the skin’s elasticity and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Acne: It has antibacterial properties and helps to regulate sebum production, making it effective in treating acne-prone skin.

Lactic peels are known to help with the following conditions:

    + Acne
    + Sun Damaged Skin
    + Enlarged Pores
+ Blotchy Pigmentation (This product will NOT help with chloasma, melasma or virtigo)
    + Fine lines and wrinkles
    + Discolouration or dark patches
    + Dry Skin
    + Keratosis Pilaris
    + Age Spots

  • Lactic acid and glycolic acid are both alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) that are commonly used in skincare products and professional treatments. The key differences between lactic acid and glycolic acid are as follows:

Strength: Lactic acid is milder and gentler on the skin and is best for sensitive skin. Glycolic acid is generally considered to be stronger than lactic acid. Glycolic acid has a lower pH, which means it is more acidic and can potentially cause more irritation and sensitization.

Skin type: Lactic acid is better suited for sensitive or dry skin types because it is less harsh and drying. Glycolic acid is better suited for oily or acne-prone skin types because it is stronger and more effective at treating acne and congestion.

Moisture: Lactic acid is a humectant and therefore best suited for those with dry, sensitive skin. Its humectant properties help the skin retain moisture whereas glycolic acid is best suited for oily and acne-prone skin types.

Benefits: Lactic acid is primarily known for its hydrating and exfoliating properties. It can help to improve skin texture and tone, reduce hyperpigmentation, and brighten the skin. Glycolic acid has similar benefits but is more effective at treating fine lines, wrinkles, and acne.

Overall, lactic acid and glycolic acid are both effective alpha-hydroxy acids, but their unique properties make them better suited for different skin types and concerns.

  • Lactic acid is an efficient exfoliant that targets the base of the skin's epidermis, breaking down the adhesive properties that keep dead skin cells intact. This process promotes cell turnover, revealing a new layer of healthy and vibrant skin. By smoothing and enhancing texture and tone, lactic acid increases skin elasticity for a more youthful appearance.

In addition, lactic acid serves as a humectant, allowing it to draw moisture into the skin. Dehydrated skin can often appear dull and sallow, but by boosting hydration in the uppermost layers of the skin, lactic acid imparts a plump and rejuvenated appearance.

What is more, lactic acid has the potential to activate collagen synthesis in the skin. Collagen, which is vital for maintaining skin elasticity and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, is the primary structural protein in the skin. As we grow older, our bodies produce less collagen, which accelerates the formation of wrinkles. Lactic acid assists in reviving collagen production, promoting a youthful and radiant complexion.

Furthermore, lactic acid has the ability to trigger collagen synthesis within the skin. Collagen is crucial for maintaining skin elasticity and minimizing the visibility of wrinkles and fine lines. As we age, our body produces less collagen, which speeds up the formation of wrinkles. Lactic acid helps to stimulate collagen production, revitalizing the skin and promoting a youthful and luminous appearance.

  • If you follow the instructions provided, there should be no discomfort or peeling associated with the use of chemical peels. Unlike mechanical exfoliants that require scrubbing, chemical peels facilitate skin exfoliation, without the need for such methods. By accelerating the natural exfoliation process, they help to remove the top layer of dead skin cells. However, there is no need to worry about the skin peeling off. Instead, you will notice the incredible results of increased cell turnover, which promote a smoother and more radiant complexion.

  • DO NOT USE:

    + If you're pregnant/breastfeeding

+ If you are undergoing any kind of intense beauty treatment such as (but not limited to) microdermabrasion, other AHA acid treatment, Retin-a, laser therapy etc

+ If you have any broken veins/capillaries.

+ If you're on medication which increases the skins sensitivity such as (but not limited to) roaccutane and for 12 months after your course has been completed.

+ If you commonly have cold sores. People who commonly have cold sores may find that chemical peels can cause an outbreak of cold sores and may want to take their medication before use or avoid use altogether, do not apply this product to your skin while you have an active cold sore.

  • The safest method to start skin peels is to build tolerance from a low percentage peel such as 10% then increasing the peel strength over a safe period of time. The key thing to remember with skin peels is that time is key.

Building tolerance allows your skins pH to become custom to the acidic nature to the peels over time.

The tolerance method includes a treatment plan that is spread over a number of weeks which will enable you to build from 10% to 15% and then to the final stage of the tolerance peel treatment plan to 20%.

Once tolerance has been correctly built, you will then be able to assess whether your treatment at 20% is enough or whether you need to further increase strengths in order to gain further improved results.

We offer a tolerance kit which includes everything you need to begin skin peels in our online shop.

  • Yes, it is vital that you use a neutraliser with all our skin peel treatments. The acid solution CANNOT be washed off with just water. we have a specially formulated neutraliser which has been formulated to be kinder on the skin.

Why do I need a neutraliser?

A neutraliser is required to restore your skins natural pH after the treatment has been carried out.

When the Alpha Hydroxy Acid solution is applied to the skin, it bonds to the skin and lowers the skin’s natural ph. Because the solution permanently bonds with the skin, it cannot be washed off with using just water and therefore a neutraliser is required to restore your skins natural ph.

Without a neutraliser your skin’s natural pH cannot be restored which can cause undesired side effects.

  • No, there is no need for a skin prepping solution prior to use. All that is required is that skin is washed and rinsed thoroughly before commencing treatment.

  • Before any peel is performed it is important that a patch test is carried out 48 hours before commencing the full treatment.

  • A 30ml bottle will provide approximately 15 - 18 full face treatments.
